Terms of participating in the GWSPS BYO iPad Program
Device Specifications Students can use iPads they already have as long as they meet the minimum specifications of a 16Gb iPad with a camera. If you are looking to purchase a new iPad, it is crucial that you explore the specifications laid out by the high school that you are looking at sending your child to before purchasing.
Insurance and Security Families will be required to cover the iPad for accidental damage and loss. This may be done through a home insurance policy. The iPad remains the property of the family and all maintenance and repairs are the responsibility of the family. Although every measure possible will be put in place to ensure that the iPads are safe at school, Glen Waverley South Primary School accepts no responsibility for damage, theft or loss.
The school will provide a locked area for the iPad to be stored in during the day when it is not in use and during break times.
Applications To participate in the BYO iPad Program, parents / guardians will need to set up an iTunes account. There are a core set of apps which students will be expected to purchase / download onto their iPad. Many of these apps will be free, while others will incur a cost. Parents will purchase these using their iTunes account or iTunes card. See the Apps List tab for information about required apps.
Some minor amendments may be made to the Application List throughout the year. We endeavour to keep the cost of apps at a minimum.
